TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

NATURAL STRIDE

To help you achieve a natural stride, the Kiprun KN500 offer:
- a reduced 4mm drop,
- increased flexibility thanks to their flex grooves,
- a very light weight (197 grams in size 5.5),
- a low heel thickness.
A natural stride is the stride we adopt when we run barefoot, striking the floor with the forefoot or middle of the foot (midfoot).

WHAT IS THE INFLUENCE OF DROP ON RUNNERS

the drop is the height difference between the front and back of the shoe. It is very important for runners and their stride. However, there are currently no certainties about the influence of the drop on a runner's performance or injuries. The drop also has a direct impact on muscles and tendons.A low drop causes calves and Achilles tendons to be more stretched. That's why any changes to drop must be made gradually.

HOW TO SAFELY TRANSITION FROM A HIGH DROP TO A LOW DROP

Transition to a natural stride requires progressive and appropriate use to avoid any risk of injury. It is essential to get your muscles used to running with a low drop (and low cushioning) gradually. You can, for example, reduce the drop that you run with little by little, or divide your workouts into two parts by doing a warm-up with your low-drop shoes and a specific session with your normal shoes.

SLIP ON CONSTRUCTION

The Kiprun KN500 slip on like slippers to provide maximum flexibility at the upper. The elastic component of the upper allows the shoe to mould to the shape of your foot.
