Traction, grip or both?
Traction is what prevents your soles from slipping on loose ground (slippery or dry). Grip is what prevents them from slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).
With their widely-spaced 5 mm lugs to fluff out mud more effectively, your trail running shoes literally bite into the ground: it's on muddy terrain that you'll see what they're truly capable of.
And with new rubber, you can be sure your outsoles won't slip, even on wet rocks!
With our Kalensole EVA foam:We offer you ultra-soft cushioning
Kalensole is an EVA foam exclusive to Decathlon running sports, used for the midsole. It took three years of research to create this exclusive composition that improves cushioning by 34% and propulsion by 25%, a greater temperature stability!
Running shoes suited to all terrains... and all types of stride!
Exclusive Kalenji technology that makes our shoes suitable for every stride type thanks to the denser foam located under the first metatarsus.
A shoe that gives you support when trail running.
When you're out running in wild for hours, you need shoes that give you maximum support!
That's why we added a PU band sealed to the mesh around the back and sides of the shoe, to wrap your foot up snugly. As a result, when you pull your laces, your shoe tightens around your whole foot to provide extra support.
What are the secrets behind the XT8 design?
The XT8 features a whole array of details designed to provide support, versatility and traction:
- There's a pocket on the tongue you can store your laces in!
- Weighing just 285 g in size 5.5, your shoe is even lighter than before and suitable for body weight up to 75 kg.
- The sole has a heel-to-toe drop of 8 mm
- For optimal comfort - even in trail - the lining covers the whole interior of the shoe, right to the toes!
Shoes tested for robustness
In order to provide you with ever more versatile shoes, the first thing we did was listen to your feedback. That led us to develop a new kind of rubber for the heel, one that gives better grip.
Then we handed our shoes over to trail running enthusiasts for 6 months, men and women who tested them out under real-life conditions every day, on all terrain.
Result: On top of its exceptional level of grip and support, the XT8 will last you up to 1,000 km!
To choose the right size
For trail running, don't hesitate to choose one shoe size over your normal size to ensure optimal comfort on downhill sections and prevent your toes from hitting the front.Recommendation: Keep your toe nails short and, before any downhills, check that your laces prevent your foot from sliding to the front of the shoe.
