How is the 500 isothermal Lunch Box organised?
Thanks to the spacious size of this lunch box, it’s easy to put a full meal for one or two people in it.
The main compartment lets you have up to 2 compartments in height.
1 zipped pocket for storing cutlery and other accessories. 1 other pocket can hold a cold pack.
The 2 extending side pockets let you store a water bottle (or can) up to 50 cl, standing upright.
The shoulder strap makes it easy to carry.
How was the insulation of the 500 isothermal Lunch Box validated?
We chose thick, high-performance polyurethane (PU) foam to improve insulation performance.
We laboratory tested this lunch box according to the EN 12546-2 standard, at an ambient temperature of 32°C, without ice packs and half full. It took 5 hours to go from 5°C (food temperature straight from the fridge) to 15°C.
By adding 300g of ice, the time to go from 5°C to 15°C increased to 8 hours in the same conditions.
How to optimise the performance of the 500 isothermal Lunch Box
To keep it cool for longer, you can add one or more cold packs thanks to the pocket inside the main compartment.
You can also keep your lunch box and food in the fridge before your picnic or meal to maximise the freshness.
The fuller the lunch box, the more it stays fresh.
Ice packs are available in store or on the Decathlon website.
What are the regulations regarding the materials of the 500 insulated Lunch Box?
Our products and materials meet the food contact standards in force. They do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA) in accordance with the French regulations in force.
