      Waterproofing of the component of these overtrousers

      The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.
      These over trousers are designed with a waterproof coating (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5,000 mm H20 (Schmerbers) before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5 metre column of water).

      Waterproofing of these overtrousers

      The waterproof properties of the over trousers aren’t just that of its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.
      Sewn watertight, the overall waterproof properties of your over trousers are measured with a shower test developed by Decathlon that simulates rain of varying intensity.
      These Raincut waterproof over trousers protect you from a small shower equivalent to 6 cm of rain in 1 hour.

      Performance of the overtrousers in the rain

      To maintain a durable water-repellent fabric, we recommend reactivating it regularly.
      Do this every three washes (it is important to rinse abundantly) or after a dozen uses in the rain.
      You can easily reactivate the water repellent property by warming the fabric:
      - in your tumble dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic program)
      - with a hair dryer at a distance of 20 cm going back and forth twice
      - or twice over with an iron on the delicate setting without the steam function

      Fabric breathability

      The fabric of these overtrousers is breathable: RET = 12.
      Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET).
      This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin.
      The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.

      RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric

      J'ai acheté ce pantalon pour faire du vélo / de la randonnée sous une grosse pluie.

      J'ai enlever des étoiles pour plusieurs raisons.
      Look Design : on est pas au top de la mode quand on le porte, mais ce n'est pas en soit un point négatif. On ne le porte pas pour être jolie et faire un défilé, mais pour être au sec !
      Facilité de transport : rangé dans sa sacoche, il ne prend pas de place c'est hyper pratique ! Mais quand il est mouillé et qu'on doit attendre qu'il sèche, c'est compliqué de l'étendre quand on n'est pas chez soi.
      Mais en soit, encor une fois, ce n'est pas un frein à l'achat, c'est un inconvénient logique.

      Sinon je l'ai essayé plusieurs fois sous une très grosse pluie, il est très efficace. Une fois enlevé, mon jean était sec.
