How can I be sure that my baby will be warm when sledging in the snow?
Our designers use wadding to keep the body warm. This polyester-based synthetic component traps more or less air depending on its thickness. The thicker the wadding, the more air it contains and the warmer it is. The baby snowsuit has 150 g/sqm wadding.
How can I be sure that my baby will stay dry when sledging in the snow?
The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm can therefore withstand the pressure exerted by a 2,000 mm water column. A quality guarantee for this baby ski suit.
How do I make sure my baby doesn't lose their mittens and they always have warm, dry hands?
Use the Lugiklip system to attach Decathlon baby mittens onto the sleeves of their Decathlon baby ski suit and jacket.
In their quest for independence, your kid can attach the mittens on the sleeves on their own without going wrong thanks to the fun design of the Lugiklip accessories! Just combine the colours and animal heads will take shape.
The mittens will always be to hand, and the right hand!
The mittens are not included when buying the baby ski suit
How can I stop snow from getting in my après-ski?
Put the elastic at the bottom of the baby ski suit over the boot to prevent snow and draughts from getting inside the snow boot.
How to dress your babies so they stay warm on your sledging outings?
To make sure you stay warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-technical-layer rule:
- Layer 1 or thermal base layer to stay dry.
- Layer 2 or an insulating layer, to keep the heat in.
- Layer 3 against bad weather.
What is the water-repellent feature?
A water-repellent fabric lets water run off its surface, without absorbing it: the fabric does not soak up water and stays light and breathable. You can see drops of water beading and running off the surface of the fabric. A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment (every 3 washes).
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
To reactivate the water-repellent property, wash the garment inside out on a synthetic cycle at 30°C and rinse thoroughly. You can use your usual washing powder but no fabric softener. Then leave your baby ski suit to air-dry completely on a drying rack. Finally, turn your garment the right way round and put it in the tumble dryer on low heat for 10 minutes. The heat will reactivate the water-repellent property of the fabric.
Where can I write my baby's name on this baby ski suit?
Space to write your kid’s name in order to personalise the product. Handy for finding their baby ski suit at the nursery.
Where can I store my baby's dummy on this baby ski suit?
A rip-tab chest pocket on the baby suit is specially designed to store their dummy.
How is the waterproof rating of the baby ski suit verified?
The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.
This jacket is designed with a waterproof coating (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5,000 mm H20 (Schmerbers) before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5 metre column of water).
