HOW DO BALANCE BIKES HELP WITH KIDS' PSYCHOMOTOR DEVELOPMENT?
Moving, learning and playing are essential parts of a child's development.
With their balance bike, kids will learn balance, spatial awareness and coordination skills, while immersing themselves in imaginary worlds.
OUR N°1 CHOICE: EASY LEARNING
Each part has been specifically designed by our B'TWIN team.
The low frame makes it easy for kids to get on and off their bike and deal with obstacles (pavements, hills).
The footrests encourage them to lift their feet off the ground and experiment with balancing. The position of the footrests prepares them to put their feet in the right place on a real bike.
Last but not least, the saddle curves up at the back to help kids sit in a position from which they can propel themselves efficiently.
IS THERE SOMETHING TO STOP THE HANDLEBARS TURNING?
We've chosen to let the handlebar rotate a really long way so that kids can manoeuvre at a much wider range of angles. However, the shape of the frame stops the wheel from coming far enough round for the handlebars to end up back to front. Kids are given free rein to practise their steering while remaining safe.
A FUN DESIGN
To please both kids and parents, this bike comes in several colours, with a range of inspiring urban and sporty styles. Have you noticed the symbols on the frame? They're different on each model and are sure to catch the eye of budding explorers. We know that, at this age, details really matter!
LIGHT AS A FEATHER
Our Runride 500 balance bike weighs 3.4 kg. It weighs more than the Runride 100 model because of the brake and the bearings in the wheels.
Stop Easy innovation: a patented braking system designed for children.
More accessible brakes and a more comfortable grip are the main benefits of our Stop Easy system. For more movement, the brake lever is pressed parallel to the handlebars. Whilst progressive, this innovative brake lever also provides 30% more braking power compared to a conventional brake lever. An innovation from our B'Twin team, loved by both parents and children.
Brake like the big kids!
We've opted for a V-brake system with mini aluminium callipers. It has been designed specifically for balance bikes: the adjusting screw is at the back so that the child's legs can't rub against it. We've put ribs on the brakes that slot into the grooves on the plastic rims, giving you great braking. The slight noise you hear when the brake pads rub against the rims is proof that the brakes are working effectively.
10" WHEELS
The wheels are 10", with plastic rims and solid EVA foam hybrid tyres.
WHY IS THE BEARING QUALITY IMPORTANT?
The principle of the balance bike is for kids to propel themselves along and use this motion to learn to balance. The bearing quality is important as it's what allows kids to pick up enough momentum to lift their feet and find their balance.
Our 500 model really stands out from other models in the same class. The wheels are equipped with ball bearings, which are recognised as being more efficient.
ADJUSTMENT RANGE: A DETAIL THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
We've done everything we can to make this balance bike fit your child for as long as possible by giving it a saddle that adjusts in height by 11 cm.
Minimum saddle height: 30.2 cm
Maximum saddle height: 41.2 cm
When kids are just starting out, the saddle should be at crotch height so that they can place their feet flat on the floor.
The handlebar can also be adjusted by 8 cm.
Min. handlebar height: 43.5 cm
Max. handlebar height: 51.5 cm

You will need a 5 mm Allen key to remove the wheels
The balance bike is supplied with the right tool.
HOW ARE OUR BALANCE BIKES TESTED?
All our balance bikes are tested in the lab. These tests confirm that they comply with the EN-71 safety standard for toys, as well as checking the product's resistance and braking power. We also perform field tests to assure ourselves that the product meets users' needs and stands up to real conditions from the point of view of both kids and parents!
WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
The box contains the dismantled bike (wheels, frame and saddle) and the tools needed to assemble it.
Don't worry, we've included instructions on how to put it together. Your budding young rider will have a bike that's been lovingly assembled and adjusted to the right height.
HOW TO RIDE SAFELY
Toys should not be used on public roads. When learning to cycle, kids should stay on the pavement. And for safety reasons, protective equipment (helmet and pads) is strongly recommended.
