Making dyes more environmentally-friendly
Our teams work on finding innovative processes that reduce the use or pollution of water during manufacturing. The "dope dyeing" technique (bulk-dyeing) saves up to 60% water and significantly reduces CO2 emissions. This also reduces colour fading over time.
From 2019, we started this process with the colours black (Ref: 8550766) and khaki (Ref: 8583162), while efforts to master this technique on other colours continue.
Making materials more environmentally-friendly
For the interior of this backpack, we have decided to use a "greige" component, i.e. without additional dyeing, which gives it a light appearance.
Despite everything, the component retains all of its properties, including its durability. This also makes it easier to see the contents of the bag thanks to this process that can also deliver a big reduction in the carbon footprint.
How is volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment, as well as each pocket, with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
How to adjust your backpack?
1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, belt, load adjuster straps)
2 - Put on the backpack
3 - Tighten the shoulder straps
4 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed
How to fill your backpack?
Put your heavy items at the bottom. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece within arm’s reach. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. The flask can be placed in the side pockets designed for this purpose.
Laboratory tested
We carry out several laboratory tests to validate the bag's components: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zips. For example, for a fabric, we test resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour fastness when subject to UV light and washing, waterproofing. We also conduct tests to check the resistance of assembly using a dummy that reproduces the movements of a hiker to replicate several years of wear and tear on the bag.
Your opinion is important to us!
Thanks to all your feedback, we have improved the design of our NH100 30-litre backpack.
In this new model, we have added a compartment in the large pocket as well as a zipped pocket. We have also changed the opening to make the contents of your backpack more accessible.
