TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS
Protection
It's important to differentiate between visible light and invisible light (in part, UV)
All our sunglasses protect from 100% of UV rays.
You'll be protected even with a transparent lens, but you might get glare. This is where the idea of categories (0 to 4) comes in.
Category 0 lets almost all light through, while category 4, on the other hand, is very dark (perfect for high mountains)
LENS
These glasses have a category 3 lens, meaning the lens absorbs between 82% and 92% of visible light
Category 3 is perfect for sunny rides.
Not suitable for riding in overcast weather in winter. 100% UV protection, compliant with standard ISO 12312-1.
The mirror effect is aesthetic only. Beware of scratches, which are more clearly visible on a mirror lens. Keep them protected in their case.
HIGH DEFINITION LENSES
These high-contrast road cycling lenses have been specially designed to enhance the most common colours you see on your bike rides. This gives blues, greens and greys more contrast so that you can make out more details.
Tests have shown that cyclists significantly preferred these lenses compared with classic category 3 lenses (grey or brown)
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR GLASSES
To keep your lenses in good condition and benefit from a good field of vision, it is important to follow the following rules:
- Always store your sunglasses in a protective case, particularly when transporting them
- Never wipe your glasses with a dry cloth, wash them in soapy water first
- Never wipe your glasses with a T-shirt or cycling jersey
- Wipe/wash your lenses with a microfibre cloth only
CHOICE OF NOSE PIECE
The sunglasses come with several nose pieces.
There are two goals - the most obvious one being to adapt the frames to your face.
The second goal is less well-known but just as important - adjusting the nose also adjusts ventilation. The tighter the nose, the "higher" the glasses will sit on the face, and so the greater the gap. This creates more ventilation, which might be appealing in summer.
REMOVABLE FRAME
The XC RACE II has a removable lower frame. Beyond the style aspect, which remains a personal choice, it again represents the ability to adjust ventilation based on your activity. When the lower part is removed, there is greater air flow inside the frames.
To remove the lower part, just gently pull sideways (not downwards)
