NW 500, a new shoe for new adventures!
Nordic walking is a sport in its own right. That's why Elodie, Séverine and David developed this new NW 500 shoe: a nicer style, more flexibility, better grip... everything was tweaked following your feedback as Nordic walking users. We kept the gaiter to stop small stones from getting in and the lace-holder to prevent laces from trailing. A new life awaits your feet. Don't hesitate to try me!
What is Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is performed with special walking poles on all gently sloping surfaces to tone the whole body.
What are the benefits of Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is good for overall fitness and can be enjoyed by everyone. It helps tone the body, improves breathing, is effective when it comes to weight loss and strengthens bones. As well as all the physical benefits, practising this outdoor sport also contributes to a feeling of well-being. For more information, please visit www.newfeel.com
Why is it important to choose a special shoe for Nordic walking?
In Nordic walking, you place the heel on the ground first, then roll out the foot until the toes hit the ground for propulsion. These shoes provide optimal flexibility and enhanced cushioning under the heel and metatarsus, the areas that suffer the most when walking.
What is the Flex-H technology?
The exclusive Flex-H concept follows the natural action of the foot thanks to three flex grooves in a H pattern. Studies undertaken in Decathlon SportsLab have identified the metacarpophalangeal joints are both the flexion zone and the main support zone of the foot in fitness walking. Thus, our design teams placed flex grooves on both sides of this joint in order to help walking while remaining comfortable.
What pair of shoes should I choose in case of rainy weather?
Mesh textiles are very ventilated and are not fit for walking in rainy weather. We recommend the NW 580 shoes, whose fabric and treatment guarantee the waterproofing you need.
To ensure your feet are comfortable:
- Choose the right shoe size. When walking, you do not necessarily need to take one size up.
- Choose a shoe whose shape is suitable for your foot
- Adjust/tighten the laces to ensure your foot is supported properly and don't hesitate to re-lace your shoes during your walk
- Avoid new socks when wearing your new shoes for the first time
- Use socks which are higher than the built-in sock liner
