      What are these kids' roller skates designed for?

      The terms "roller skate" and "quad skate" are used to designate the same thing.

      The Quad 100, also called fitness quad skates, are above all versatile roller skates designed for your child to wear while learning how to skate or practising occasionally. We put comfort first during the design process. That way, your child can concentrate on how much fun they're having.
      The vintage style of these wheeled shoes is a nod to roller skates from the 80s.

      What's the difference between fitness quad skates and artistic skates?

      Stuck between this model and the artistic skates with a heel? Artistic quads are made differently. They come up higher on the ankle, have a small heel and their brake is closer to the ground. More than anything else, their design is dictated by the sport of artistic roller skating. Fitness quad skates are a more versatile skate for urban exploring, roller disco and some occasional roller dancing or cruising. They are as comfortable as trainers but with wheels added on.

      What protective gear do you need to start cruising on skates?

      Like in all gliding sports, falling is just part of learning (even for experienced skaters). For maximum protection, we recommend wearing knee pads, wrist guards and a helmet at the absolute minimum. Elbow pads as well as padded shorts can also be helpful when you haven't quite figured out a little thing called balance. And even if you're not exactly stylish, your joints will thank you.

      How is the quad made?

      Boot: Synthetic PU.

      Spare parts (54mm wheels, ABEC 5 or ABEC 7 bearings) are available in-store and online.

      We recommend regularly swapping the wheels around so that they wear evenly. The same for the brakes: By switching the left and right brakes, they will wear out more evenly and last for longer.

      Client fidèle de Décathlon depuis des années, je suis extrêmement déçu par mon expérience récente avec une paire de rollers achetée il y a un peu plus de deux ans. La languette présente un défaut manifeste : elle ne tient pas correctement, rendant l’utilisation inconfortable voire dangereuse.

      J’ai contacté la plateforme téléphonique Décathlon ainsi que l’accueil du magasin, et tous deux m’ont confirmé qu’un échange ou un remboursement était envisageable. Pourtant, une fois au téléphone, le vendeur a catégoriquement refusé toute solution, sous prétexte que la garantie de 2 ans venait d’expirer… de seulement deux semaines.

      Nous n’avons utilisé ces rollers que quelques fois, uniquement durant les beaux jours. L’année dernière, la météo ne nous a même pas permis de les sortir. Nous avions d’ailleurs repéré ce défaut l’an passé, mais n’avions pas pu retourner au magasin à temps. En les ressortant récemment, le problème s’est confirmé : il ne s’agit pas d’une usure, mais bien d’un défaut de fabrication.

      Ce n’est pas seulement une question de délai, mais de principe. Lorsqu’un produit présente un vice de fabrication évident, le minimum serait de faire preuve de bon sens et de considération pour le client. Encore plus quand on parle d’un usage aussi limité. Un échange aurait été légitime, et le refus catégorique d’un vendeur, sans même considération du contexte, est simplement inadmissible.

      Je regrette sincèrement cette attitude. Pour une enseigne qui prône l’accessibilité au sport pour tous et la satisfaction client, c’est un très mauvais signal. J’espère que ce message sera entendu.
